June 28
Kaufman County, Texas Crash
At least 5 people have died and multiple were injured after a major car accident in Texas on I-20 westbound. The crash involved 3 tractor trailers and 4 passenger vehicles. One of the individuals driving a tractor trailer fell asleep at the wheel causing the initial crash. 4 of the deaths were in a single family in a Ford F150.
June 29
Sudan Gold Mine Collapse
11 miners were killed in Sudan in a gold mine collapse with 7 others injured. Sudan produces a large amount of gold for distribution around the world but there are often workers who are not affiliated with the mine inside various mines and collapses are incredibly common in the country.
June 30
Telengana Chemical Explosion
A chemical factory in Telengana, India exploded on June 30 killing between 36 and 40 people (government issued death toll vs locally reported death toll) and injuring 34. The explosion originated in a spray dryer unit that dried raw material into a fine powder. It is likely that a buildup of dust occurred in either the blow dryers which released an ember or a buildup occurred in a bend in the pipe releasing and ember and causing a dust explosion.
July 1
Esparto Fireworks Explosion
A series of explosions, including one large one, occurred at a fireworks storage warehouse outside the town of Esparto, California. Currently 7 people are unaccounted for in the aftermath of the explosion and it is still not known exactly what caused the initial fire that led to the explosions.
July 2
Indonesia Ferry Disaster
A ferry left East Java in Indonesia Wednesday headed towards Bali with 53 passengers and 12 crew. Not long after leaving the port, the ferry sank quickly completely under the water. As Friday July 4, 2025, 6 people have been confirmed killed, 29 have been rescued, and 30 are still missing. Authorities believe some of the missing are trapped under the water in the boat and have likely perished. Search efforts are ongoing and an investigation is continuing into what caused the sinking.

Current Atlantic Hurricane Outlook
This invest, named 92L, currently has a 60% chance of forming a tropical storm in the next few days. As of right now, models mostly show it staying as a tropical depression with a few indicating it could reach tropical storm strength.
The spaghetti models indicate it will likely track over South Carolina in the next 48 hours.
IR indicates a moderately well organized storm with very little strengthening convection currently.
